How Iredell County Busted Mugshots Enter Records
Every busted mugshot starts the same way. A person is brought to the Iredell County Detention Center after a warrant, an arrest, or some other lawful custody event, and detention staff photograph them during booking. That photo becomes part of a larger booking record. The Iredell County Sheriff's Office runs the county custody system, and even though municipal departments write their own incident and arrest reports, the county detention record follows anyone the jail accepts.
The sequence moves in stages. An officer initiates the arrest, jail staff complete intake, a booking number and charge entries get logged, and the person may then surface in P2C current-custody data. One caution: a Daily Bulletin event is not a roster entry. Bulletins can list citations or summonings, and the bulletin itself warns that some events are reported late rather than on the day they happened.
In this context, "booked" simply means processed into custody. What it does not tell you is how a case ends. Charges listed at intake can be reduced, dismissed, or resolved in other ways, so a booking photo alone never settles what a court later decided.
Record first, conclusion later. Stick to the words booked, arrested, or charged when describing an intake event, and save convicted for an actual court result. Checking the Clerk's record first keeps the description accurate.
Note: A person can leave the live roster after release or transfer while the underlying booking record remains with its custodian.
Fields Inside an Iredell County Booking Record
The public P2C screens give a partial view. They don't show every internal booking field. Behind the scenes, a complete record ties together identity, intake, custody, and court information. The Daily Bulletin works more like an event table than a booking sheet. Its visible columns cover case number, description, officer, charge, name, race, sex, crime, location, and property. Want the actual document or photo? Request it from the office that maintains it.
| Field | What it can show |
|---|---|
| Name and identifiers | The person's name, booking identifier, and identity details used by the jail. |
| Booking date and time | When intake was recorded. It is not always the same as the event date. |
| Arresting agency | The Sheriff's Office, a municipal department, or another agency that delivered the person. |
| Charges as booked | The charge entered at intake, subject to later court change or dismissal. |
| Bond information | A bond amount or release condition when the record contains one. Bond is not a conviction. |
| Photo and descriptors | A booking portrait and physical descriptors if maintained and releasable. Iredell's online photo display is unconfirmed. |
| Property and classification | Property held at intake or internal custody information, some of which may not be public. |
| Release or court details | A release event, court date, or related case reference when held by the custodian. |
Some material won't be released at all. Protected juvenile information, sealed or expunged records, victim-identifying details, medical information, and confidential investigative files may be withheld or redacted. A third-party copy never overrides a later court order. Keep the official case number handy, and ask the agency directly which record type it holds.
Request an Iredell Booking Photo
The Iredell Sheriff Records Division handles incident and arrest documentation. Its Statesville office sits at 231 Constitution Lane, Statesville, NC 28677, with a public records line at 704-878-3180 and hours of Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is also a Mooresville office at 610 E. Center Avenue, Mooresville, NC 28115, reachable at 704-664-7500, with posted morning and afternoon office hours. Per the Sheriff's request page, incident reports can be requested at either location.
No dedicated booking-photo form, photo fee, or fixed response time is published. North Carolina G.S. 132-1 is the public-record starting point, while G.S. 132-1.4 sets out criminal-investigation limits and the public arrest-information categories. Keep in mind that the statute doesn't force an agency to create a record, rebuild a missing image, or release material made confidential by another law.
- Write to the Sheriff Records Division and ask for the booking record and booking photograph, if maintained and releasable.
- Give the full name, approximate booking date, booking number if known, arresting agency, and case or warrant number.
- Ask which office holds the record, whether a digital or paper-copy fee applies, and whether redaction or another exception affects the request.
- Keep the response and any official record. Use the Clerk for court documents, not a booking request, when the goal is a disposition.

A $10 charge applies to fingerprints, but that is not a booking-photo price. Incident-report copies are listed as no charge. Ask before assuming either figure covers a photo request.
North Carolina Rules for Mugshots and Records
North Carolina does not force Iredell County to post every booking photo online. Nor does it bar private publishers from reprinting one. The G.S. 132-1 public-record definition covers photographs and electronic files, yet G.S. 132-1.4 walls off criminal-investigation material while listing arrest details the public may see. G.S. 15A-502 handles photos and fingerprints in certain criminal and traffic cases. Taken together, none of these amounts to a mandate for a live portrait feed on the county site.
Legislators keep circling the issue. The 2025 House Bill 446 proposal never became law, and the NCSL overview tracks similar bills in other states without changing what an Iredell custodian may release. A photo held for identification or jail use can simply stay off the public roster.
Someone with a qualifying dismissal or acquittal has one official remedy: expunction. G.S. 15A-146 spells out the paths. Some qualifying cases clear automatically between 180 and 210 days after final disposition, provided conditions are met, though a felony dismissed through a plea bargain is excluded from that shortcut. The Judicial Branch notes a $175 filing fee for many petitions, with exceptions and possible waivers, and warns that processing can stretch across months.
Once an order is granted, work outward from the source. Contact the Iredell Sheriff about a roster or archive entry, then send the order or proof of error to any unofficial site that copied it, using free correction routes where offered. Busted Newspaper and RecentlyBooked describe free request processes for qualifying outcomes or factual mistakes. Mugshots.com and Mugshots.zone list contact or policy channels but remain unofficial. And skip anyone demanding payment to "erase" a record; money cannot rewrite a docket, and search-engine refresh tools only update an index after the source page actually changes.
Note: A law proposal or a private publisher's removal policy should never be described as an Iredell County statute.
How to Find Iredell County Arrest Records
Start with one question. Is the person in custody right now? The official Iredell P2C portal explains the public-safety system, and its Inmate Inquiry tool is the live custody search. A name may return nothing for several reasons. The person could have been released. They may have moved to another facility or been cited instead of jailed. A misspelled entry hides results too. So does a legal restriction on what the portal may show. Treat an empty screen as a dead end for that tool, not as the whole story.
- Search P2C Inmate Inquiry by last name, then refine with first name and the available list filter.
- Search the Daily Bulletin by the date of the event. Choose the event type carefully because arrest, citation or summons, incident, and ordinance rows are different.
- If the question concerns a photo or older booking, send a precise request to Sheriff Records rather than relying on a copied page.
- For a state prisoner or supervised person, use NCDAC. For a federal or immigration detainee, use the matching federal locator.
- Check eCourts and the Iredell Clerk for the disposition. A booking charge is not the final case result.
Release status runs on its own tracks. The county Inmate Locator points to VINELink, also called NC SAVAN, for custody notifications where coverage applies. Do not expect photos there. Each channel answers a different question: the P2C roster shows current county custody as the portal records it, the Daily Bulletin covers public-safety events for a chosen date, and the court search reveals docket activity. Pick the tool that matches what you actually need.
Where Iredell County Busted Mugshots Appear
Check official sources first. No Iredell County page promises a booking portrait online. So "photo" here means possible or requestable at best. Secondary sites can supply a lead. But the county controls neither their freshness, their source chain, nor their custody status.
| Channel | Photo status | Official? | Access and custody state |
|---|---|---|---|
| P2C Inmate Inquiry | Unconfirmed | Yes | Search current Iredell County jail custody. |
| P2C Daily Bulletin | No routine photo field found | Yes | Search a selected date and event type; citations may appear. |
| Sheriff Records Division | Request if held and releasable | Yes | Ask for a booking record or photo with identifying details. |
| Sheriff news and app | Not guaranteed | Yes | Selected releases, tips, and public-safety news, not a complete roster. |
| NCDAC search | Profile-dependent | Yes | State prison, probation, parole, or historical state data, not county jail. |
| Local news | Varies by story | No, except attributed releases | Selected arrest coverage, not current custody or disposition. |
| Unofficial county pages | Often displayed | No | Copied records from Busted Newspaper, RecentlyBooked, Mugshots.com, and Mugshots.zone. Treat as possibly stale. |
The unofficial sites named above map the landscape. They are not endorsements. An old copy can linger after P2C updates its own view. For an error or a qualifying expunction, use the Sheriff, the court, and each publisher's correction path.
The Sheriff public-information page gathers the essentials in one spot: P2C, jail details, wanted lists, news, and alerts.

Iredell County Busted and Booked Roster
The official P2C Inmate Inquiry is the primary lookup for current custody. Its controls are short and simple. What it lacks matters too. There is no stated photo-display policy. There is no posted persistence period and no guaranteed refresh interval. Think of it as a live portal view rather than a running history of everyone ever booked in Iredell County.
| Control | Use |
|---|---|
| Last Name | Start with the family name as entered in the county system. |
| First Name | Refine a broad result or test a known given name. |
| Search | Submit the name query and inspect the returned custody list. |
| Filter Inmate List | Use the available list filtering after the search loads. |
Searching is straightforward. Type the last name. Add a first name if it helps, submit, and read the result as a snapshot of current custody. An empty result calls for an alternate spelling. Or check adjacent Daily Bulletin dates. A prior booking can drop from the live view after release, transfer, bond, court action, or routine data cleanup. Its disappearance from the screen does not mean the booking never occurred.
- Open Inmate Inquiry and enter the name.
- Use the result filter, then note the agency and custody information shown.
- Look for a photo indicator, but do not assume one exists.
- Ask Records for the underlying image if the official result does not expose it.
The Iredell County Sheriff's Office iOS app handles outreach, tips, and public-safety news. It does not promise inmate lookup or booking photos. Notify Me and the Alert Center page deliver general and emergency alerts rather than a new-booking-photo subscription. P2C stays the custody source.

Who Got Busted in Iredell County Recently?
Start with the P2C Daily Bulletin for Iredell arrest events by chosen date. Controls are simple. There is a Bulletin Date field, an Update button, an Event Type Filter, and a printer-friendly view. The table can list case number, charge, name fields, race, sex, crime, location, officer, and property. Event labels include AR Arrest, TC Citation or Summons, LW Incident, and OR Ordinance, with felony and misdemeanor splits plus attempted-versus-completed flags.
It is not a rolling 24-hour feed. The bulletin itself warns that some events surface days after they happened. Search the date you expect first. Then check the dates on either side, repeating the query and noting which dates you covered. No official 72-hour or weekly booking feed exists for Iredell.
Read the feed with care. One row in the Daily Bulletin might be a citation or summons rather than a true arrest. A person booked today can also be missing from the list simply because reporting lags. P2C or Records will confirm custody.
News sources fill in what rosters leave out, but only partly. County Sheriff News and Newsflash are press-release streams, hand-picked by the agency. Iredell Free News runs weekly or multi-day felony-arrest roundups from the Sheriff's Office and Statesville Police, adding neighborhood context the raw data lacks. Treat all of it as editorial selection. For a solid answer, the date filter, a booking record, or the court docket still wins.
For history, the Sheriff archive sorts older material into categories. These include jail reports, detention reports, warrant reports, monthly and annual totals, ICE Team reports, and press releases. The Sheriff's reports page posts the agency's published totals and report categories. Neither guarantees an index of old booking photographs. The State Archives notes that agencies follow approved retention schedules, and no public collection of historic Iredell booking portraits could be confirmed.
When you need the arrest category and the report date from the horse's mouth, the Daily Bulletin is the official dated event source. Start there for same-day questions.

NCDAC Offender Photos for State Custody
The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction, or NCDAC, covers a different stage: state custody. Its public search reaches current prison offenders, probationers, parolees, and historical records back to 1972. County jail inmates are not in it. An Iredell arrest alone never moves a person into NCDAC. A state profile matters only after sentencing or state supervision begins.
Search fields are generous. Query by last name, first name, middle initial, sound-alike surname, offender number, status, gender, race, ethnic group, birth date with a year range, or age range. Note that an offender number is a state identifier, not an Iredell booking number. A profile image comes from the state record and differs from a county intake photo.
Some state records are not posted online. Those go through NCDAC's own public-records route. Write to 5201 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, NC 27699, visit 214 W. Jones Street in Raleigh, or call 919-733-2126. NCDAC policy bars releasing offender photographs for curiosity or notoriety. Requests should name the state offender number, the record type, and a lawful public-safety or identification purpose.
Keep the systems straight: P2C for Iredell county custody, eCourts for a docket, BOP for federal sentences, ICE for immigration detention. No single search merges them all.
The NCDAC search explanation states the state-custody boundary and keeps county jail records separate.

Booked, Released, or Sentenced: Record Paths
Custody status decides which source holds the answer. One person can pass through several systems, and the same initial charge may surface in more than one of them. The table draws those boundary lines so nothing gets lost between agencies.
| Status | Best source | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Just booked or in county custody | P2C Inmate Inquiry | Current Iredell County detention data as represented by the portal. |
| Released from county custody | Sheriff Records and court | The name may leave the live roster while the booking record or photo remains requestable. |
| Dated arrest or citation event | P2C Daily Bulletin | An event on a selected date, not proof the person remains jailed. |
| State prison, probation, or parole | NCDAC | State corrections or supervision, not a county booking. |
| Federal sentenced custody | BOP locator | Federal custody from 1982 onward, without a public mugshot in the locator. |
| Immigration detention | ICE locator | Requires the exact identifiers described by ICE; no public photo feed. |
A third-party page can keep a copied image alive long after the official roster moves on. That copy does not show current custody. Verify the smart way: start with the official roster or bulletin, request the underlying document from Records, then check the court docket for how the case ended.
Iredell County Court Dates and Dispositions
A case can travel through many stages after intake: first appearance, bond review, arraignment, plea, motions, trial, sentencing, or dismissal. Arraignment is where charges are addressed and a plea may be entered. Bond is a release condition. Disposition is the court's recorded outcome.
The North Carolina eCourts Portal lets you search by name or case number and view events, hearings, and dispositions. It shows public docket information, not the official file itself. For certified copies, go to the Iredell Clerk. Iredell sits in District 32; the Hall of Justice is at 226 Stockon Street in Statesville, with an annex at 203 Constitution Lane and Government Center South at 610 E. Center Street, Mooresville. Call the court at 704-832-6600.
Match the booking charge against each count in the docket. Counts within one case can end differently. Note the latest disposition, its case number, and its date. Expungement runs through the official court process, though private copied pages may need separate notice to come down.
Court disposition is where the real answer lives. It shows whether a charge was dismissed, reduced, resolved by plea, or decided at trial.
Busted Mugshots by City in Iredell County
Three incorporated places appear here: Mooresville, Statesville, and Troutman. Their population figures come from the April 1, 2020 Census count, not current estimates. Keep city and county records separate in your mind. A municipal arrest processed at the detention center still flows through the Sheriff's county custody systems.
- Mooresville Busted Mugshots: Mooresville Police records come from the department at 2847 Charlotte Highway and 704-664-3311. No stable city mugshot feed was found, so county custody belongs in P2C.
- Statesville Busted Mugshots: Statesville Police is at 330 S. Tradd Street with a 704-878-3406 non-emergency line. The county seat has a city report path, but no verified daily public SPD booking blotter.
- Troutman Busted Mugshots: Troutman Police is at 400 North Eastway Drive, 704-528-7600. Its Coplogic incident-report path is distinct from the county jail roster.
Each mapped city page describes its police department, the records request route, and whatever local blotter exists or does not. All three share the Iredell custody path. Population data comes from the Census TIGERweb place table.
