Contacts for Iredell Records

Contacts depend on the record you need. This private reference is not a government office and cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, or pull an official booking file. The Iredell County Sheriff's Office handles county detention and booking requests. City departments handle their own reports. The Clerk handles court copies, while NCDAC, BOP, and ICE handle separate custody systems. Call or check the official office before traveling because public details can change.

This is a private reference site, not the Sheriff, jail, police, court, or a corrections office. Only the relevant government office can confirm current custody, release status, charges, or a record.

County Jail and Booking Records

For a person believed to be in county custody, begin with the P2C Inmate Inquiry. The Iredell County Detention Center and Sheriff Records Division hold different county details. For a booking record or photograph, contact the Sheriff's Records Division and identify the person, approximate date, arresting agency, and case or warrant number. The public interface does not promise a booking photo, and no separate photo fee or fixed response time was posted.

The Sheriff's Mooresville office is at 610 E. Center Avenue, Mooresville, NC 28115, 704-664-7500. Its posted records hours are 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Incident reports may be requested at both offices. Ordinary incident copies are listed as no charge; fingerprints are listed at $10. Neither figure is a booking-photo price.

Which Office Answers Which Question?

Use the record holder that created or maintains the information.

  • Current county custody: Iredell P2C Inmate Inquiry or the Detention Center information desk.
  • County booking sheet or photo: Sheriff's Records Division, with a precise written request.
  • Mooresville report: Mooresville Police, 2847 Charlotte Highway, 704-664-3311, or the town request form.
  • Statesville report: Statesville Police, 330 S. Tradd Street, 704-878-3406; records questions are listed at 704-878-3410.
  • Troutman report: Troutman Police, 400 North Eastway Drive, 704-528-7600, or the town's public-records route.
  • Court case or disposition: Iredell Clerk and North Carolina eCourts, court phone 704-832-6600.
  • State, federal, or immigration custody: NCDAC, BOP, or ICE, respectively.

A city report is not a county booking file. A roster entry is not a court disposition. Tell the office exactly which document is needed.

Requests for City Records

Mooresville's public-record form invokes Chapter 132 and says requests generally take 14 business days. Requests requiring more than four hours may create a fee after notice. Troutman's form asks for a written description, date, and location, offers inspection, digital, or paper access, and requires payment under the adopted schedule before release. Its Coplogic police-report route lists an $8 online report, a $3 in-person report, and a 24-hour availability expectation for the applicable incident or crash report.

Statesville offers mail, in-person, and NextRequest filing. Its page says criminal investigation and intelligence material is generally restricted except for the public categories in G.S. 132-1.4, and the city need not create a new record. Use the city office for a city incident. Use Sheriff Records for a county detention record or photo.

State, Court, and Federal Paths

NCDAC covers state prison, probation, parole, and historical state data. Its public-record contact is 5201 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, NC 27699, street address 214 W. Jones Street, Raleigh, NC, 919-733-2126. NCDAC photos are not automatically released for curiosity or notoriety. BOP covers federal sentenced custody and does not publish a public mugshot in its locator. ICE's locator handles immigration detention and requires the identifiers described by that agency. The Sheriff's local “ICE” team means Interstate Criminal Enforcement and is not the federal ICE agency.

For the outcome of an Iredell charge, use eCourts for available public docket information and the Clerk for official copies. A booking or police report is not a conviction. Court disposition is the source for a dismissal, reduction, plea, trial result, or sentence.
